Series III. Affirmative Action
Scope and Contents
The Black Caucus Records are comprised of donations from members of UCSF's Black Caucus, founded in 1968, after the death of Martin Luther King, Jr., and open to all Black men and women at UCSF. The materias span roughly 1968-2010 and document the early activities of the Black Caucus, as well as of other similiar groups on campus, such as the Council of Minority Organizations (COMO) and the Latin American Campus Association (LACA).
Materials include photographs, posters, fliers, and other ephemera documenting the activities of the Black Caucus, as well as audiovisual materials, a hard drive, and a digital transfer. There are also files from the Office of UCSF Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity and Diversity, which include statistics about diversity at UCSF and other UCs, as well as articles and fact sheets on workplace descrimination and retaliation. There are also materials documenting Black Caucus celebrations and anniversaries.
