This series contains records pertaining to the San Mateo County Nurses Association and the San Mateo County Nurses Registry. This series covers materials from 1929-1975. Post 1975 materials can be found in Series 3: Golden Gate Nurses Association. San Mateo County periodicals can be found in the combined Publications/Periodicals Series (Series 4).

This series includes, board, general meeting, committee and special interest group minutes, as well as financial documents, rosters, and correspondence. Registry materials are interfiled with the rest of the materials in the series. Of special interest are the 1937 Charter Certificate, early membership records, the K.O. Polio campaign, CNA Agreements with Peninsula, Mills Memorial and Sequoia Hospital Districts (1967), the Vietnam Homefront Project, and the 1973 Registry Certificate and Registry License.

This series is arranged chronologically, and most of the folders represent one fiscal year, except for the 6 Bound Minute books from 1937-1965 which have been placed at the beginning of the series.
