Okey Ka, 'Cho, winter 1991-summer 1993
Scope and Contents
This series contains a number of San Francisco AIDS Foundation newsletters which are arranged by department or function. The reasons various titles have risen and died are often complex, and sometimes unknown. As an example, Volunteer Services has consistently published a newsletter in some form since 1987. Even prior to that, there were at least two attempts to produce newsletters; Volunteers published at least two issues in late 1984, followed by San Francisco AIDS Foundation Volunteer Newsletter in 1986. In the summer of 1987, Steven Petro of Media services began editing a new quarterly publication called Onward. This lasted for a little over a year, ending with the fifth issue in the summer of 1988. In 1989 there was a renewed attempt to publish; this time it was a monthly newsletter. The first issue was produced in May under the old title Onward, but a plea was made to volunteers to suggest a new name. June saw one issue of We're Still Waiting. Finally, in July, Macropages was born, lasting through 1992. January of 1993 saw yet another name change, to Volunteers/Voluntarios/ Boluntaryo Mga, the name still being used at the end of 1995. Hot Line volunteers themselves, meantime, published at least three newsletters. These were Hot Lines (1984), HOTline FLASHES (1989) and HotLine Notes (1992).
