The "Birth Stories of Trinidad and Tobago Collection" is a comprehensive multi-media project by Tammy Kremer, MA, which explores various birth experiences in Trinidad and Tobago from 2018. Initiated during Kremer's Fulbright arts research grant, this project encompasses a short film titled "Home Birth in Trinidad and Tobago" showcased at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, a series of edited short films, and approximately 60 interviews with a diverse group including parents, midwives, obstetricians, and government workers. It also features a collection of photographs an d videos of speeches by Kremer, who has a background in public health communications and arts education. This project collaborates with key local institutions like the Mamatoto Resource and Birth Center, and aims to enhance awareness about birthing options and advocate for improved birth conditions in Trinidad and Tobago.
