Biographical / Historical
In August 28, 1872, the City of San Francisco opened the doors to the City and County Hospital at 23rd and Potrero Streets, making an investment in public health that would withstand plagues and earthquakes, population booms and great inventions. In 1873, The University of California forges a partnership with the City and County of San Francisco to provide health care services and train doctors.
