1 oversize box containing a New York polyclinic medical school diploma, 1 legal-size box containing letters written by Florence Nightingale Ward, newspaper clippings and reprints authored by Dr. Florence N. Ward. Dates span 1888-1919. Three (3) homeopathic medical kits (circa 1890-1900s) that have been transferred to the Historical Artifact Collection.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Florence Nightingale Ward (1860-1919) was a prominent homeopathic physician who specialized in obstetrics and gynecology in San Francisco, CA. She was the first American woman to study medicine in European hospitals and later became the Vice President of the American Institute of Homeopathy.

Materials in this collection were donated to the UCSF Archives and Special Collections by Susan Stone on behalf of Dr. Ward's grandson Dr. John Erskine in 2011, and by Florence Zink (Great, Great, Granddaughter of Dr. Ward) in 2024.
